Glossary
  T
  Throttle Body Fuel Injection (TBI)
A fuel-supply system that has taken the carburetor's place, increasing vehicle reliability, efficiency and emissions performance
  Tire Aspect Ratio
A tire's height relative to its width
  Tire Codes
  Tire codes decoded P247/92HR38
P simply means this is a passenger car tire. Other codes include T (temporary, as in a spare tire), LT (light truck) and C (commercial).
247 (the first number) is the tire's width in millimeters.
92 (the number following the slash) is a measure of the tire's profile, expressed as its series or aspect ratio - the height of its sidewall relative to its width, in a percentage.
H means the tire's maximum speed rating is 130 mph (see the key below). Though not all tires have this rating before the R, it is becoming more common, especially on "performance" tires.
R means it is a radial tire, which is most common these days.
38 (the last number) is the diameter, in inches, of the rim on which the tire fits.
  Tire Series
Expresses the tire's aspect ratio as a whole number

  Torsional Rigidity
A vehicle body's resistance to twisting forces
  Traction Control
A system that helps a vehicle maintain traction and stay on course during acceleration
  Transfer Case
A gearbox that divides power between two separate axles in a four-wheel-drive system and, in some vehicles, offers an additional, low-gear setting for offroad use
  Turbocharger
A device driven by exhaust gases that increases engine power by pumping air into the combustion chambers
  Turn-in
The transition between forward motion and a turn - the nature of which varies considerably from vehicle to vehicle when the driver turns the steering wheel
